Privacy Policy
We're a small family-run lunch delivery service in Santa Barbara. We collect only what we need to make and deliver your child's lunch — nothing more. Here's exactly what that means, in plain English.
What we collect
When you sign up and place an order, we collect:
- Your name — so we know whose lunch we're packing.
- Your email address — for receipts, account access, and weekly menu updates.
- Your mobile phone number — for delivery notifications by text.
- Your child's first name — it goes on the lunchbox label so it comes back to the right kid.
- Your delivery address — including any gate codes or drop-off notes you give us.
- Food allergies and preferences — so we can keep your child safe and fed.
- Payment information — processed and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
We also keep a basic record of your orders, deliveries, and any feedback you send us.
How we use it
- Order fulfillment — packing the right meals and getting them to the right door.
- SMS delivery notifications — a text when your lunch is on its way and a photo confirmation when it's dropped off.
- Meal feedback requests — an occasional text or email asking how a meal went, so we can improve the menu.
- Weekly menu updates — what's coming next week, and any changes to your delivery schedule.
- Billing — running your weekly subscription and sending receipts.
- Support — answering your questions and fixing problems.
Text messages (SMS)
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number with third parties. Your number is never shared for marketing or promotional purposes by anyone, ever. We use it only to send you messages about your own Good Parent service.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on your delivery schedule. Most families receive approximately 2–4 messages per delivery day — typically an out-for-delivery notice, a delivery photo confirmation, and occasionally a meal feedback request or menu update.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier charges for text messages may apply depending on your mobile plan.
How to opt out. Reply STOP to any message from us and you'll be unsubscribed right away. Reply HELP for help, or email us at hello@goodparentday.com. Opting out of texts won't cancel your subscription — we'll switch you to email notifications instead.
We work with Twilio, a messaging provider, to deliver these texts. Twilio processes your number solely to send our messages on our behalf and is not permitted to use it for anything else.
Who else sees your information
We share your information only with the service providers that make Good Parent work:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Twilio — sending your delivery text messages.
- Supabase — the secure database that holds your account and order records.
- Our delivery drivers — who see only your name, address, delivery notes, and what to drop off.
That's it. We never sell your personal information to anyone. We'll only disclose information beyond the above if the law requires it, or if it's needed to protect someone's safety.
Delivery photos
Our drivers take a photo of your lunchbox at your door as delivery confirmation. These photos are stored with your order record, visible to you in your account, and are used only to confirm delivery and resolve any questions about a drop-off.
Children's information
We collect a child's first name, allergies, and food preferences — provided by you, the parent or guardian, for the purpose of feeding them safely. We don't collect information directly from children, and Good Parent accounts are for adults only.
How we keep it safe
Your information is stored in an encrypted database with access limited to the people who need it to run the service. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers. Connections to our site and apps are encrypted in transit.
No system is perfect, but we take this seriously — you're trusting us with your home address and your kid's name, and we don't take that lightly.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and order information for as long as you're a customer, and for up to three years after you cancel — mostly for tax, accounting, and food-safety recordkeeping. Delivery photos are kept for 90 days. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we'll do it, except where we're legally required to keep records.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your account and information.
- Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts.

Just email hello@goodparentday.com and we'll take care of it.
